The square always appears at exactly the right time of day on the right day every time. The nonsense of this statement comes closest to expressing the disorientation I feel every time I see the square. The square is perfect, yet the patterns of influence that guide its appearance remain hidden from me.
The objects that surround me inside and outside my apartment interact with my life in intimate yet unquantifiable ways. How can I know what degree of difference it makes that there is one hundred and one rather than one hundred leaves visible from the window. I cannot account for everything. And yet one such object such as that leaf has maintained itself in precisely the perfect position to make itself known to the world as a reflection through the window through several open doors onto the wall. I do not know for whom or what reason it appears but I am committed to being attentive to it. Maybe by amplifying its projection I can help it reach—
